Another brilliant Xcel idea… NOT!
June 30th, 2025
Time to crash. Just got this filed. A DAY TO SPARE!!
Xcel Energy and then the Public Utilities Commission always pick at least one spot on every line that really makes no sense. This time, it’s a greenfield crossing of the Mississippi River, at a stretch that’s state Wild & Scenic, and the line in the map above is where they’re going to mow down the eagle’s tree ridge on the bluff for their (#&$*#@^*%&# transmission.
To do it, well, maybe it wasn’t necessary, but they did, they buried the DNR’s comments saying expressly what they preferred — and they’re the natural resources gurus. So yeah, I attached the comments clearly stating their “strong preference” recommendation of routes,, and of course linked… and for your edification, here they are!!!

Here ’tis, just filed, sent to Cannon Falls City Administrator, and copied Randolph Township, the EQB Environmental Review Team, and the Environmental Quality Board:
Tract Data Center in Cannon Falls
June 24th, 2025
Yes, there it is. This is the site plan proposed by Tract for its data center in Cannon Falls. I’ve just come from a file review, and am posting the docs little by little here.
The Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) is based on a ruse that the data center is “one option” for the site, but the site plans, schedule, and other documentation show that it’s a data center and nothing else.
Here are photos of a bunch of 11×17 docs that didn’t fit in the scanner:
And here are the larger plans, also photos as they are LARGE:
And there’s more to load…
Archer Data Centers Faribault Campus
June 23rd, 2025
Too late I learn about this — deadline for comments was June 20. Note this is an Environmental Assessment Worksheet, not an Alternative Urban Area Review (AUAR).
The official Minnesota Environmental Quality Board notice and published document can be found here. The City of Faribault also posted the document here.

This is billed as a 120MW project on 84.3 acres.
Looks like a lot of roofs for solar!
THESE THINGS ARE ALWAYS TOO BIG TO UPLOAD OR PASS AROUND VIA EMAIL.
