Douglas I. Overland, age 88, of Mpls passed away November 22, 2006. Survived by wife, Lois; daughter, Carol and “grandchildren” Kenya and Krie; son David (Kim Gardner). Graduated from Dunwoody and U of MN, Mechanical Engineer, served in the South Pacific in Naval Construction Battalion from 1942-1945. Memorial Service Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. at Mayflower Community Congregational Church, 106 E. Diamond Lake Road, Mpls. Memorials preferred to Mayflower Community Congregational Church Foundation.

For those of you who will be looking for David, he’ll be at the Holiday over by Septran and Bob’s shop!

    Thinking of you. Your dad served in the South Pacific in 1942-45, same as mine. My dad was older when he joined up. He would have been 95 this year.

    Wish he were here now, to help me against this ethanol plant. The company has two big promotional ads in NNews I haven’t seen yet. Kathleen asked at last night’s meeting if we could lift the moratorium and let the county handle the ethanol plant. And go ahead with the rest involved in township planning. How does that strike you?

    If that is the decision on Dec. 11, ABE will activate its permit application at the county so fast our heads will spin. It’s the end of Little Prairie Community.
