It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…

Every Friday, we’re at John Rich Park, from 4-5pm with our signs. Yesterday we had 98-100 exuberant people coming together to visibly let the Trump administration know exactly what we think. There are so many more honks and waves than fingers and yelling, I’d guess about 95% cheering us on. One of the odd things about this is that every Friday, someone yells out the window “GET A JOB!” That’s also come up on the Red Wing Convo fb page. ??? Do explain, I don’t understand…
Today, it was Gov. Tim Walz in Rochester, and the line was LONG. They filled the auditorium, and then folks waited outside for ? half an hour or so, in an oh-so-orderly fashion. We were told that we’d probably not get in, as they’d filled the overflow and would be shutting the doors soon, but patience and persistence paid off and everyone waiting got in. I brought my flag as I’d figured it’d be impossible to get in — and there’s Alan holding it for me as I got some photos:
And of course there were Trumpers, 4 of them, and 2-4 more elsewhere. The 4 came in to the school driveway after everyone was in the building, they’d been hanging out on the street, a LONG ways away. They were at the side door sidewalk that Walz’ SUV drove down, so they got to see him up close and not so personal, and after the SUV passed, they started yelling. The 3 men who came up to where we were earlier were also shouting occasional nasty nonsense at stragglers heading toward the door.
The woman in the white longish coat is Christina Barton. She came over and Alan and I had a chat with her, one of those frustrating interactions. Civil yet bonkers. Here’s info on her issues with the Rochester Public Schools. In Alpha News:

It’s indeed a beautiful day in the neighborhood — so encouraging and invigorating to see so many standing up — I hope that everyone who showed up is putting in time taking ACTION!!
